Question Garden is always being updated. This page shows the full list of what has changed in the project from its beginning until now.

July 2026

Thursday, 23rd

  • Daily and weekly question reminder emails now use the Question Garden visual style, with the weekly email matching the all questions page calendar layout
  • Cancelling a recurring donation now takes effect immediately — your account shows the cancellation date and a confirmation email is sent
  • Visiting a past question date that has no question now shows a friendly message instead of an empty answer form
  • All member-facing emails now use the Question Garden visual style with fonts, colours, and a plain text fallback
  • Daily question reminders are now sent by email — registering with a reminder frequency set will add you to the mailing list automatically
  • Newsletter subscription is now wired end-to-end: registering with it enabled, updating it from the account page, or deleting your account all sync correctly with the mailing list
  • The header and footer logos now scale proportionally on small screens

Wednesday, 22nd

  • Reporting an answer now works end-to-end: the moderator receives an email with the report details and can dismiss it or remove the answer
  • When a reported answer is removed, the author receives an email and can rewrite their answer; the reporter receives a confirmation that the answer was taken down
  • Reported answers are no longer visible in anyone's reading history once removed

Tuesday, 21st

  • Account page: you can now update your question reminder frequency and newsletter subscription at any time
  • When a shared answer is not accepted, you now receive an email explaining why and a link to try again
  • Fixed several home page issues: your activity list no longer reorders while you are editing, the Random Question button reappears after clearing a saved answer, and returning to Today's Question after clearing no longer switches away unexpectedly

Monday, 20th

  • Donations page: added a progress bar showing how close we are to our yearly funding goal
  • All questions page: redesigned as a scrollable calendar — each question shows as a row with date, day name, and your status badges; colour-coded by month

Saturday, 18th

  • Answers now preserve line breaks when shared with or read by other members
  • A character counter appears in the answer box when fewer than 200 characters remain
  • Scrollbars now appear on the sidebar and navigation menus when using a mouse

Friday, 17th

  • Account page: improved layout of the donations history list

Thursday, 16th

  • Account page: the 'Manage subscription' button now stays in a loading state until the portal opens
  • Account page: subscription management errors now appear on the page
  • Account page: a 'Donate again' button now appears for members with a past donation but no active subscription
  • Account page: subscription statuses now show colour-coded badges — active, cancelled, or past due
  • Account page: active subscriptions now show the date they started
  • Account page: donation history can now be expanded and collapsed

Wednesday, 15th

  • Account page: logged-in supporters can now manage their subscription directly from their account
  • Account page: donation history is now visible, including amounts, dates, and status

Monday, 13th

  • A thank-you email is now sent after every successful donation, personalised for one-time and recurring donors
  • Donation confirmation page now shows a personalised summary of your donation
  • Improved the donation cancelled page with clearer copy and a 'Try again' option
  • Fixed the 'Back' button on the donation review page after returning from the payment screen

Sunday, 12th

  • The full donation flow now works end-to-end: select an amount, review, pay, and receive confirmation
  • Subscriptions are now supported alongside one-time donations
  • Returning to the donation review page after navigating away no longer creates duplicate entries

Friday, 10th

  • Donations are now processed securely through Stripe
  • Monthly, quarterly, semi-annual, and annual subscription options are now available
  • Donation amounts of €1, €3, €5, €10, €25, and €50 are now available

Tuesday, 7th

  • Home page: random questions from the garden can now be suggested when you have answered today's question
  • Home page: the 'Today's Question' button is now disabled once you have reached your daily limit
  • Fixed: editing or deleting an answer now correctly removes it from your reading history

Monday, 6th

  • All questions page: improved the filter experience
  • Individual question pages now have proper titles and descriptions

Friday, 3rd

  • All questions page: you can now filter by answered, shared, or read status
  • Filters can be removed individually with an animated dismiss button

Wednesday, 1st

  • All garden actions — saving, sharing, reading, editing, and deleting answers — now use the live backend
  • Logging out now correctly clears all data from the previous session

June 2026

Tuesday, 30th

  • Registration now requires email verification
  • Forgot password is now available from the login page
  • Answers are now saved to and loaded from the live database

Friday, 26th

  • Direct registration is now available when spots are open
  • The register and pre-register links update automatically based on current availability

Thursday, 25th

  • Invitation emails are now sent automatically when you are invited to join
  • A confirmation email is now sent when you join the pre-register list
  • A confirmation email is now sent when you change your password
  • A confirmation email is now sent when you delete your account
  • Added a page shown after account deletion

  • You can now update your country and timezone from the account page
  • You can now delete your account from the account page
  • Password change is now fully functional
